Yeah. Basically what you need be fore you can judge him is DT over 270 speed, Thrawn at 270 Tarkin at 268 ish and then DN and GK both around 220 at least to get around in time to hit a group hug and get that 3rd CD increase in in time
DT goes first? Sounds like fun against a zQGJ, Ezra, GK, zzR2, zYoda/JKA team ;) DT going first isn't going to be all that amazing against a Jedi team, just saying haha. Also DT's base speed is 124, which goes to 152/154 with Tarkin lead. Sure that's alright, but there are plenty of toons that will outspeed you with similar mods, and any Jedi team should be able to run right through you. That team seems to depend more on Thrawn stopping any tanks from getting in your way, which I think could be done in other setups that don't need Tarkin. Correct me if I'm wrong though, but it does seem that Thrawn is pivotal in allowing that team to hold, not saying that's a bad thing, it's just not all Tarkin. Thrawn could do that in another team. The only real bonus you get from Tarkin there that I see immediately is having DT go first, but there are enough teams nowadays that start with buffs that DT won't be increasing all of their cooldowns right off the bat.
I don't think anyone here is playing tarkin "wrong" I just think that other shards might have slightly different teams and might have more people with similar high speed mods that will just outspeed your deathtrooper if they noticed you were going first. Hell put +120 speed on Maul and he goes before your DT with his lead and could Daze everyone, followed up by Nihilus and your whole team is using basics the first round instead of you using DT to rain on their parade, it'd be going the other way around. Thrawn would be an easy target after GK's taunt is stripped under a tarkin lead.
It just sounds like a team to face all the slower Rex led teams that were modded so they went "second" so their team would get the TM boost from the enemy going first and have more people at 100% TM first. But then, once Rex leads start going away I think Tarkin won't be quite as useful. Plus most people don't care if they only need to use 1 fight to get to 1st or if they need all 5. Getting to 1st without a refresh is probably enough to make people happy so as long as they can keep winning on offense not much will change, if there are a bunch of tarkin leads popping up with DT I think there will be a lot of other leads that aren't Rex popping up to beat the Tarkin/DT wombo combo.
That's what I think, but I haven't actually faced a Tarkin lead in arena, but based on how it did in GW where it didn't get to go first any of the times I faced it (My whole team didn't have TM saved up, but some did each time as my GW team isn't modded for speed and probably wouldn't have gone first unless I moved mods around, different point tho) it's not a problem to beat when it's not the first to move. I'd love to hear if this is all wrong or partially wrong though, as I haven't quite had that much experience with Tarkin. (Although I'd argue his ship isn't as OP as people think it is)
