Simple Solution to Event Farming

At least double drops for one day.

Or anticipate what will be needed and farm accordingly.
For Luke, we had a flash event a couple months ago that required 5* Luke with the promise that a new Luke was coming that would require the old Luke.
The next update gave a clue that Luke would be joined by old friends. Well, it is pretty obvious who helped Luke along the way and all of them were easy farms except R2.
Perhaps you should lament that you didn't plan better and ignored the clues rather than complaining about accessibility of shards.

The Thrawn event was like.... Whaaaaaat???? No one has these characters.
The R 2 event was like ..... alrighty, get him with easily farmable characters.
CLS is like.... yup still farmable, but more complex.

Just be prepared all the time. Get the main characters. Snoke unlock will/could be Ren, Vader, EP, Nihilus and Sidious.

Unfortunately I had everyone but Leia good to go, and her farmability is limited by shop currency. I'm not top 3 in squad arena, but I consistently finish either top 50 or 60 so I get 10 shards a day. Even with the pack I'll fall 40 to 50 shards short of seven stars (if only I had one more week)... Nevertheless, it sucks, but that is life (no whining here).

But I see a lot of complaining and an easy fix is the shard shop. It would allow a player to drop everything for shard currency to speed up their farming for a week. I wouldn't even complain if the pack was the entry fee to shard shop farming(though I'm sure that most of the community would). It is a for profit game after all.

Are players only allowed to buy those 19.99 character packs from the store only once?

Thrawn was easier to get than R2. Cmon who other than empire fanboys has a full empire team.
