I have noticed with other team as well, if the attempt to inflict armour shred fails to inflict it does not count towards the attempt. So currently the feat should read inflict armour shred and not attempt to inflict
I can tell you that even with successful armor shreds, it still does not always count. It is not counting armor shreds from Aphra's droid. Tested this a few times.
