Drop rate is wrong

The drop rate for materials is wrong in cantina battles and mod battles. For example, if I sim 9-C on mod battles, the drop rate for the salvage materials is 3 for each material. So my drops should be 3, 6, 9, 12 etc. So when I sim it, why do I get 11, 7, etc? My drops should all be factors of 3 surely? It's the same in cantina battles when farming relic materials. If I try to farm flamed signal data, for example, the drop rate is 2. So why do I regularly get an odd number? It has been like this for a very long time. I've had enough of the drops being wrong.

  • Fair enough if that's true. If I'm farming a hard node and the drop rate is 2, I always get 2-10. So I don't understand why it wasn't the same farming on other nodes. Cause my other cantina nodes are like that. It's just when I get to the relic materials it's different and can don't understand why.

  • The number is the maximum drop. When farming signal data you can get drops of 0, 1 or 2. 

    When farming those mod materials the drops can be 0, 1, 2 or 3. 

    It can be hard to follow, because for some materials the game does display the range of possible drops, but for the things you’re describing the number has always meant the max number, and all integer values below that number are possible. 

    Edit: all whole number values, I should say. Not even CG would create a drop rate that removes shards!
