[CURRENT ISSUE] Sims and Pets Disappearing

Cherieris MissIcewolf patejko uhleeshaah Please let me know whether OneDrive is active and syncing your Sims 2 user folders, and whether missing Sims still appear in other Sims' memories, or if they had been replaced with $Subject. Also check if there is an antivirus that could be flagging the game and preventing it from from creating new character files. If you have received an object error, please go to Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 Legacy and package your Logs folder into a ZIP file, then attach it to your reply here.

It happened to me twice now, and I'm not playing any families until this is fixed. I made the same family twice: A Mother and daughter. The first time I reloaded into the first family, the mother vanished, leaving only the food she made from my last game on the counter. The Second time I made the Mother and daughter, the daughter disappeared, leaving only broken memories in the mother's memory section saying : "...with $Subject," in each of the mother's memories of the missing daughter. This seems to happen to us only after we load back into the game from what I can tell so far... so something happens after we reload or after we save and quit? Maybe the simsfile doesn't save all the way or load in? Does anyone know how to location sims files in the files? Like in the Sims 3 I saved a copy of my favorite sim family when I was solving an issue so I could uninstall and reinstall the game w/o losing them, maybe this could be a fix? I'll try looking myself. EA please fix this ASAP if you see our discussions about this game breaking issue.☹️

Same. Pets disappear when I try to move in and my toddler was just gone when I tried to load back into the game. And the amount off object error logs I have is insane, they are never ending

You just have to add a two folders (Your primary install folder and the second folder with music and painting stuff under documents). I've added it to my Antiviral Software program to stop it from stopping my sims game. Fingers crossed it works! So far in my game, no bugs or weird glitches. Hope this helps!  😊

This is what I added to my "Antivirus Exclusions," section of my Antivirus Program, yours might be different depending on where you installed it, theses are just going to be an example or might be the same as yours, just follow the paths or go into EA play or Steam, and find the install folder. Then you find the documents folder and add it too, "YOURNAME," is whatever you named your PC. 

1. D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\The Sims 2 Legacy Collection\EP9\*
2. C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 Legacy\*

This doesn’t work! I already had OneDrive deinstalled and never used another Anti-Virus as the inbuild from Microsoft and this was already configured that is not allowed to touch the folder. I still get the deleted Sims problem! I only run in this problem with the re-release version!

Having the same issue with both sims and pets disappearing. 
First household: 1 sim, 1 cat and 1 dog. Dog disappeared as soon as CAS was done. 
Tried moving out and that made the cat disappear as well.

Second household: 1 sim, 1 cat and 1 dog. Both pets disappeared as soon as the household moved in to a lot. 

Third household: 1 sim. Played fine, saved, quit game, came back day after and Sim is gone. She does not exist at all, even in other sims memories or friend list she just does not appear.

My antivirus or firewall is not blocking any content related to Sims. Also I do not have One Drive active at all, so it can't save there. 

Had the same issue. Made a family with two sims, a cat and a dog. When I moved them to a new lot, the dog wasn't there anymore, then I saved and exited the game, since I didn't mind the dog disappearing, but when I went in to play again, my other sim was missing, and there were no memories or relationships with her in the household.
