Sims 2 - Direct3d returned an error:

Hi 👋🏽 I downloaded the birthday bundle as soon as it came out on the release day! Iv been playing the sims 1 since and everything has been fine, iv now excitedly thought I’d get onto the sims 2 after giving the sims 1 a good few days! Turns out sims 2 doesn’t work atall for me ☹️ I cannot create or play ANY family. It doesn’t load up anything and just comes up an error box saying “  Direct3d returned an error: D3DERR_INVALIDCALL! The application will now terminate “. Was so looking forward to this nostalgia! Please say this will be fixed 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Playing on MEDION erazer . i7 16gb 64bit windows 11 - and is only a month old and only has the Sims 1 sims 2 & sims 4 downloaded on it and is completely up to date.
