HELP!

Hey guys,

I really love the Sims3, I was hoping EA would bring back support for it as my laptop won't play the Sims Expnsions.

I was able to play the base game Sims3, however, when I popped in my Expansions the Sims3 won't play at all. I get a message about re launching it. I re- insatalled all the game and not it just won't work. I have an error that says, 'There was an error during startup. Please see the Log for more details.

I am really disappointed as I was looking forward to play my old games. It just seems like the Sims3  was a waste of money. Hopefully, someone out there can help me. Or if EA can bring in some official patches to people can enjoy the games again.

  • Raven_1810_BB​  If you've installed only via disc, without involving the EA App at all, please manually patch the game to 1.67, the latest patch available for disc installs.  The launcher doesn't reliably patch the game, so you'll need to use the Super Patch:

    http://akamai.cdn.ea.com/eadownloads/u/f/sims/sims3/patches/TS3_1.67.2.0240xx_update.exe

    If your browser flags the download, use a different one.  The issue is the address starts with http rather than https, but you can see from the URL that it points directly to EA servers.

    If you're forced to use the EA App, do NOT run the Super Patch.  Instead, do a manual uninstall of the game, as described here:

    And reinstall using the EA App rather than your discs.

    If running the Super Patch doesn't help with a disc-only install, please do a clean uninstall, as above, and reinstall only the base game, then run the Super Patch again and see whether the game works.
