Issues with audio and aspect ratio

I was able to get The Sims 3 installed but when I go to launch the game I created by cracking audio and a squished 1920x1080. The only way i've found to fix the aspect ratio is to minimize the game and go to my Mac's settings to click on the 1920x1080 button on the display tab then go back to the game each time I start it up. I can't get the audio to sound better though. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • jely298  Does this happen if you start the game in windowed mode?  You can edit Options.ini, in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3, to set fullscreen to 0 (zero).

If that doesn't help, what audio device are you using, and does it help to only use your built-in speakers, with nothing else connected?  If that's what you're already doing, try headphones or earbuds, preferably using jack rather than Bluetooth, but you can try whatever's available.

  • puzzlezaddict the fullscreen option now works thanks to you. The audio is going from the HDMI port on the back of my Mac to the HDMI port on my monitor but I can't get the audio to sound better.
