Launcher is saying I don't own my store items?

@graceymanors  This is happening to me a lot too, but only intermittently.  What fixes it for me is refreshing the browser page and trying again; it usually only takes two or three tries to download a given item.  (Still annoying, I know, but better than it not working at all.)  The site is down messages also go away after a refresh or two.

I don't know what's going on with the site or whether EA has any intention of fixing it, but you should be able to work around this issue if you're persistent enough.  And, of course, keep backups of the downloaded files so you don't need to go through this again.

Just to double-check, you did register at least the Steam base game CD key, right?  If not, that would explain the error: EA servers wouldn't know that you own this install of Sims 3 unless its base game key was tied to your account.

I already owned the base game from when I had origin so the site wouldn't allow me to register the sims 3 base game again.

And now it says the code is invalid. I contacted EA 3 times on this issue and they won't do anything.

Dang I hope that's not the issue.

@graceymanors  You couldn't register the code on the Sims 3 Store site either?  I wonder if it went through and didn't tell you.  The easiest way to find out is to see whether you have new SimPoints to redeem: the base game should have given you another 1,000 points.  I believe the prompt to redeem points shows up on My Page, under the portrait and above the list of categories.

If you don't see a prompt to redeem points, contact EA Help on Twitter or Facebook and ask what happened to your CD Key.  A support rep should be able to tell you either way.  You can upload a screenshot of your Steam CD keys to the private chat.

If you don't get anywhere with this either, please let me know, and I'll flag your issue tomorrow.

The agent is telling me the steam version of my game got registered on the wrong account, which I logged into and looked and sure enough the base game is there, but not showing up as owned. However this isn't where all my store content is.I was logged into the wrong account when I registered them. I forget I share a PC now with my nephew. ☹️ I'm waiting to see if Agent can help.

The agent says he's transferred it. But its kind of hard to tell.

@graceymanors  If the code was transferred, you should be able to download your store stuff again, although I'd suggest another clean Sims 3 folder.

Okay, I will go try that. Hopefully this works. I figured buying the games on sale on steam was my chance to have all my PC games on one platform. 

Didn't realize it would cause hiccups.

I am still getting the same message, even with a clean EA folder.

Not as bad as before but still getting it.

Edit: Now the store page itself is telling me I haven't purchased anything.

Finally on chat and once again the agent doesn't understand. They think its an issue with the game itself. Even though I specifiy the store.lol

@graceymanors  For your missing content, the store site may just be having a hiccup.  It happens.

For the CD key, I'd suggest getting a refund for the base game from Steam and then buying it again, but please hold off on that until tomorrow; I'd like to get a second opinion on this issue.  Just don't play the game tonight: Steam allows for refunds for up to two weeks after purchase, but only if you've played for two hours or less.
