Sims 3 In-game Network Issues

Question

I have continued to report this issue to EA Games, because I believe the game needs a future patch. Since the launch of Sims 4, it seems that EA Games has abandoned us players of Sims 3, but that is another issue.

For me, I'll never play the Sims 4, because I have to much invested into the Sims 3. I'm not sure how other players feel about the greed coming from EA Games, and their attitude toward us players of the Sims 3, but the current issue needs to be addressed when it comes to the lack of support from EA Games and the Sims 3. I was even told that I didn't need the in-game server network for buying store items from the Game Store, but that isn't true. So, several weeks back I started having issues with the In-Game server going off-line, even though I can still play the game with-out the network, it's nice to be able to connect with friends while in the game. I have tried everything to clear up the issue, and sometimes the issue just goes away on it's own, but the issue is still annoying. So tonight after closing out the game from doing some work on one of my houses that I built, I tried to go back into the game and got the following screen after several crashes:

I did nothing on my end, and after about 3 days the issue started above corrected itself. I don't know what has been on EA Games end, but something must have changed in order for this issue to get fixed on it's own.

That didn't take long, less than 24 hours after the game corrected itself, it happen again.&nbsp;

Wm_Sweet​&nbsp; You do not in fact need the launcher to load properly to buy Store items.&nbsp; Just go to the website.&nbsp; It doesn't check whether the game is installed on that machine.
If you're saying the items won't&nbsp;install without the launcher loading properly, try double-clicking one of the downloaded Sims3Packs.&nbsp; When you download them from the Store site, the files land in Documents &gt; Electronic Arts &gt; The Sims 3 &gt; Downloads.
For the issue itself, try clearing Edge's Internet Explorer-mode data.
And yes, the server is down sometimes, but not nearly as often overall as it seems to be for you.&nbsp; So it's likely that this is at least in part an issue on your computer.&nbsp; It's possible that your system is caching bad data at times and therefore doesn't recover as quickly from what are only brief outages on the EA side.

I wouldn't use Edge for surfing the internet, in fact I've always used Firefox. So that is one area I can't check. As for downloading the store contain, The store has always asked me to sign-in to my game on the launcher, but that may be due to the fact that I always check the box claiming that The Sims 3 game is installed.

As for bad data, I can understand that being a possibility, and should be looking for where that information is being stored.

Wm_Sweet​&nbsp; As I said, the data is stored in Edge, specifically in Internet Explorer mode.&nbsp; It doesn't matter that you never use Edge; the launcher does because it was programmed to use IE and that never changed.&nbsp; It's one of many applications that borrows the built-in browser for certain functions, the idea being that whenever the game is installed in Windows, IE would be there and so the launcher could use its resources.
