I'm sorry if I'm always the buzz kill for EA in my posts but I had way too many ISSUES with this purchase then I can count, and way more then I've ever had on any game. Mostly game function stuff and lack of technical support.
It took them community helpers over 3 months to even say you should go to the EA help beta site. They said we don't work for EA, yet they are always there so which of EA's companies do they work for? Mod it up they say, it's your computer's fault. Another would say "NO, its your content, it's bad"... But then 90 days after you purchased and cried for actual tech support help from a real EA person on the community site... "Oh you aren't in the right spot, it looks like you might actually have a real technical issue". Is it coincidence that you only have 90 days to get a refund on the game? Is it really other people trying to help but giving nothing but... It's a ..."KNOWN Bug"... You should mod it up" for advice? It is like theyanswer saying, "yeah I looked it up its a known bug". Its like off a list of broken stuff in the game and come back to say. I for one would be firing people who alloweda "Known Bug" list in a game to go unresolved, if I owned this company.
If the game is broken then recall it.
If the people who work for you can't fix it.. Fire them....
If you sell broken versions over and over and over again people are going to not trust your company's judgment. You need to change things fast. Two rounds of Sims, and I'm not buying anything more from you without serious fixes in quality and technical compatiblity.
I know all these issues and lack of support was too much for me to handle so I reported them to the Better Business Bureau as well as reporting the product to the Attorney General of California. It's not up to us to fix the game with mods.. They told us it did "X" it needs to do "X" its not like buying a used car.. AS IS doesn't mean "its OK if parts of it are flat out broken".
More people need to fight for Quality, that is the only reason I replied. I want this one 100% fixed before they run off and only care about the next one you know? Don't stop until you get a person who can help..... Please, I beg you... It doesn't matter what you run the game on, it has been loaded with issues for PC too..... I went through 8 months of this before finally seeing improvements on the actual bugs.
8 months5 notebooks of notes while playing the game, 3 subject a sections, one per town.. Broken, broken, broken... Video, snapshots... A flat out mess. I finally started asking Frank Gibeau himself what he planned to do about fixing it... All the sites say he's the "Go To Guy for all things Sims"... He needs to make a statement that this one will function correctly before the next one gets released if they ever want me to buy another game.
Granted with the improvements so far, there seems to be some work being done... So, yesterday I gave them another chance and I have added to my Sims 3 collection but I do so with caution and a note pad right next to me with little sticky note arrows for referring to bad problemsSo far so good.. You'll know if it doesn't pan out, I don't keep quite about issues long. <lol>
Anyways.. sorry you too are having issues. I hope my advice is taken to heart because I saw results with my approach... Don't be timid, hold someone accountable it apparently is the only way to see improvement.
The problem... That's not playing... That's beta testing. =(
