Sims 3 keeps crashing

Around 4 days ago, I purchased a brand new m2 Mac with 16 GB of Ram. My Sims 3 started crashing in CAS, force quitting and bringing me to home screen. I thought maybe it was the custom content, but I knew it wasn't my specs. I have played on silicone Mac before, an m1 even and I had no issues (minus IP ofc). I also eliminated specs being an issue because I redownloaded the game and before I noticed it crashing, it runs like butter. The Mac wasn't preowned or anything it's literally brand new so I am so confused and annoyed as to why this is happening. I am yet to be able to make it through CAS without it crashing which is beyond frustrating especially with a new device.
