I did all of the above, and it still glitching. The screen is flashing which is hard to tell from the photo.

  • taytaylewlew11  Please disable Advanced Rendering, which is a check box with the other graphics options.  Do it at the Main Menu, then quit the game before you try to load a save.

If this doesn't help, please let me know which version of macOS you're running, not just the name but the full number, for example Catalina 10.15.7.  Click the Apple icon in the upper-left corner of the screen and select About This Mac, and it will be listed there.

It worked for a little, was able to create a sim and move into an apartment (Bridgeport) and then it crashed.

    Mac OS Sequoia 15.3.1

  • taytaylewlew11  Please test in Sunset Valley, for comparison's sake.  Bridgeport isn't fully broken, but it doesn't run as well as some other EA-made worlds.

So it's been working for awhile, I have been playing for awhile, I left my computer unplugged and it crashed. I am about to try again with turning off wifi and keeping my computer plugged in. Any other tips to keep it from crashing?

Thank you for all of your help

  • taytaylewlew11  You should always play with the computer plugged in.  When it's unplugged, it will throttle performance somewhat to try to extend battery life, which means Sims 3 (and anything else demanding) will run worse and possibly crash.  If you don't want your laptop always charging, there are third-party apps you can use to tell it to stop at whatever percentage you prefer.

I would only try disabling wifi if you get another crash with the computer plugged in.  It may well help, but it's important to establish what causes crashing and what does not.
