When we got home from the hospital, Eridan went inside for some dry clothes and Fitch came out to see if we needed any help. Such a sweet boy. He also wanted to warn us that Fuschia and Filbert were at it again.

Apparently, Fuschia annoyed Filbert one too many times. Here he was trying to “blow her up with his mind”. I really need to have a talk with Eridan about how much time Filbert spends watching “Big Bang Theory“. Me, personally? I LOVE the show, but I’m not sure that Sheldon is the best role model for my son.

So I had a little chat with Fuschia that night while she did her homework. She promised to lighten up on Filbert, but also said that it wasn’t her fault if he couldn’t take a joke. So I told her I’d ground her for a month the next time she pulled anything; upcoming birthday or not. Well that got her attention.

Finally my other children were settled in for the night and I got to focus on my newborn. Say hello to our daughter, Folly*.

Fitch was surprised that such an awful smell could come from something so tiny

After another sleepless night caring for Folly, I caught something out of the corner of my eye on the way to the kitchen…

and I decided I really didn’t want to know, so I just kept walking.

Before we knew it, Folly was out of her diapers. She inherited my red-hair.

She and Filbert became the best of friends almost immediately. I think Filbert initially viewed her as an ally against Fuschia.

But he needn’t have worried, because Fuschia had her birthday as well.

And she became more interested in boys and clothing than she was in tormenting her younger brother.

Note: *Folly is a color one-fourth of the way between crimson and rose, closer to crimson than to rose. The first recorded use of folly as a color name in English was in 1920.
Edited to "fix" the spelling of Fuschia's name. Grrr EA it's not a naughty word. It's a color & a plant!
