Breathing life into neglected worlds.

Hi everyone,

I’ve been thinking a lot recently about how some of our favorite worlds in The Sims 4 feel like wasted potential – beautiful shells that quickly become lifeless and static. While there are ongoing discussions in the community (and on sites like TSR) about where the franchise is heading, I really believe we need a dedicated update focused on expanding and revitalizing existing worlds, potentially leveraging smart AI mechanics to manage autonomous neighborhoods..

Here are three worlds that desperately need a "2.0" update, and how it could work:

Newcrest – From a Blank Slate to a Living Community
Newcrest was meant to be our ultimate canvas, but right now it’s just a ghost town. Instead of forcing players to build everything from scratch or deal with randomly generated townies with zero lore, imagine if an AI-driven background system populated Newcrest organically. Neighbors could have actual histories, interconnected relationships, and dynamic life events that evolve on their own, making the neighborhood feel truly alive.

Glimmerbrook – Unlocking the Hidden Potential
Glimmerbrook is painfully small for a supernatural world. A hidden realm for spellcasters is an amazing concept, but the actual town feels claustrophobic with barely any room to build. Expanding this world with a secondary district – perhaps a foggy forest area with witch huts, mystical markets, or old ruins – would make playing a spellcaster so much more immersive.

Brindleton Bay – More Space for Coastal Life
This is easily one of the most gorgeous worlds in the game, but it suffers from severe space constraints. Pets and coastal living are fantastic, but the map leaves very little room for long-term expansion or new family legacies. Adding a few more residential lots or a dedicated coastal boardwalk area would give players a reason to return here instead of always playing in newer worlds.

The Question:
Do you think EA should revisit older worlds like Newcrest, Glimmerbrook, and Brindleton Bay to expand them and introduce smarter, more autonomous neighborhood dynamics? How would you redesign them if you had the tools?
Would love to hear your thoughts!
