I recently replied this to another post:
Simple answer: I want Sims to have both unique personalities, and unique lifestyles/habits.
More details:
- Refresh/update older traits.
- Likes/dislikes expanded to direct autonomy, add/include food types/cuisines, resulting is food/cuisine preferences when grabbing/making food, etc.
- An official skill gain lock feature.
- Expand skills when clicked. Detailing what each level unlocks, when skill stats/challenges unlocked/met unlocks more skill features. Skills having more depth more like Sims 3.
- Sim behaviour selection, like "Clubs" but unique for each Sim in a household. The ability to select autonomous actions and "don't do" actions.
- Lifestyles updated/expanded, so Sims who develop certain lifestyles/habits that make more sense, and less limited to defaults and not too hard to maintain others.
- More relationship complexity. Lovestruck added some complexity and challenge to romantic relationships, but more depth could be added with slightly less challenge (I don't want to be a slave to upkeep either). More turn ons/offs, maybe Love/Romantic Lifestyle types added. I like the idea that a Sim could be "obsessed"/"infatuated"/"irresistible" (both temporary and permanent variations) over another Sim(s), one way romantic interest (different romantic bar levels (or one with and one without)), love triangles, etc.
