Extreme Weather/Natural Disasters

I don't use mods or custom content, but I have most of the official packs. Aside from the standard weather in the Seasons pack, I think it would be really cool and realistic if we had actual natural disasters like hurricanes, tornadoes, tsunamis etc. This would add higher stakes and a lot of excitement to everyday gameplay.

To give players time to prepare, there should be an early warning system. Our Sims could get urgent emergency alerts right on their phones, or we could see warning notifications pop up on the screen. It would also be great if the TVs or radios in the game started broadcasting emergency weather alerts to tell Sims to stay inside or seek shelter.

The way Sims react during the disaster should match the danger. They could get a brand-new 'Terrified' or 'Panicked' moodlet that completely overrides their other emotions. While the storm is happening, they might automatically run to hide under beds, scramble into basements, or huddle together with family members for comfort. Brave Sims could get a special moodlet to help others, while Clumsy or Cowardly Sims might completely freeze up or freak out.

When a disaster hits, it should actually affect the lot by creating realistic property damage, like breaking appliances, destroying furniture, or shattering windows. To handle this, the game could introduce a 'Home Insurance' feature. After the storm passes, our Sims could use their phone or computer to file a claim, get a payout, and then simply click a 'Repair' option to instantly fix the house back to normal.

Finally, because this style of gameplay can be stressful, it needs to be completely optional. There should be a toggle in the Game Options menu so players can easily turn natural disasters on or off whenever they want.
