My game is completely unplayable.

My game is unplayable after the patch around February the 1st. When I tried to complete the lost legacies event it froze when I got to the part where my sims play chess with the host and it crashed taking away all the prizes I spent hours playing for and claiming before saving. When I tried repairing and going into the game, the event disappeared and now, game just freezes and/or crashes. Haven't downloaded new patch and give up on this game. Have tried for weeks to get a hold of someone. But there is no chat feature anymore and no one has responded to emails or X. Go figure.
