I kinda wish that when a Sim is in any neighborhood that they can go to other lots in the same neighborhood without it having to go through the load screen.
Like, when my Sim visits a friend and there's a café next door to them they can just walk over there to have a chat over a nice cuppa.
Or my Sim currently living in Sulani and she decides to spend her day off at the beach, she can just leash her doggy and they both stroll over for a tan and a game of fetch.
oh and by the way as for merging the ideas into one: no problem😊😊
i like to merge things into 1 post if the ideas are alike, i just ask the team if they can merge them into 1 post (they don't always do that though but sometimes they do merge things into 1 post, it's mostly an outdated post they won't merge it into 1 post)
Agreed, i hate when it's on loading screen for the household who lives IN THE SAME LOT
I don't care what the team can do, lock/close your house once you visit other house or still seeing your own house i just want to get rid from the loading screen if you share the same lot while visting other household😅😅
If they add open neighbourhoods I hope they make it optional, with a toggle, even if it means community lots only. Those who want it can use it, those who don't can avoid it. In TS3 you could visit the neighbour's lot but they were at work so what good was that? Or you visited the park and again everyone was at work or hurrying to get home after work and the park was empty. The few sims who were not at work were spread so far out in the world, either in their own homes or on community lots that the worlds appeared like ghost towns. It will be the same in TS4, now the game summons about 20 sims to a lot when you visit, if they add open neighbourhood those 20 sims will be spread out to all the lots there. I would rather have the loading screens and lively lots. If you have one community lot per sub-hood you can totally play almost like an open neighbourhood game, load that lot when you switch neighbourhoods and then you can roam freely.

Ond OMG, visiting a rental that's right above me is my most peeved loading screen! I mean, I'm literally just a staircase away from their front door! 😆
i bet the team can figure something out, i understand where this questions and struggles comes from though because i heard The Sims 3 worlds was a huge mess
maybe we can have open neighbourhood for the community venues only?
residental, residental rental (from For Rent) haunted house (from Paranormal stuff pack) tiny house (from Tiny Living stuff pack) vacation house (from various packs) apartments (from City Living and Eco Lifestyle) penthouses (from City Living and Lovestruck) and residental business (from Businesses and Hobbies) lots can have a loading screen👍
do tell me if i'm missing other lot types which isn't a community venues lot types
just a thought though but i try to find a solution so we won't have loading screens all the times👍
That wouldn't work for me. I play rotationally and it would mess up my gameplay. It was a mess in TS3 and it will be a mess in TS4 and open neighbourhoods only work if you play one household only. People are already complaining that there is not enough activity in some neighbourhoods, imagine how they will be if all lots will be loaded simultaneously and all sims will be at work or going to work how they did in TS3 and all lots will be empty.
you guys can merge it in 1 post incase you didn't know😇😇 (it's possible nowadays if you report it and the reason behind it you should click "something else" so you can write the reasons why certain things are needed so the team can merge it)
i panicked at first when that happened but now i'm used to it with similar post merging into 1 (i try not to overdo it because one of the EA team dm's me to slow it down but i often report things if i see post which are exactly alike or quite similar)
and agreed, an open world won't be possible and i'm fine with it but an open neighbourhood should be possible, i hate when the game gets in loading screen all the times!
and if "for rent" is installed it should be possible to visit the other household without going on a loading screen all the times (sure you may not see your house when you visit the other household but i just want to get rid of the loading screen, that's all that matters)
I've suggested something like this last year and seen more people do this before. It'd be the best and only way to give us "TS3 Open World".
What saddens me is that we don't know if this is totally viable or even possible because they aren't transparent about our requests. 🙁
I posted about the exact same thing just recently. Lots in the neighborhood that our Sims are currently in should be immediately accessible.
This is what I think would make the game more popular and less annoying to go to different lots or properties
