Suggestion to Make Sims Leaving Lots Feel More Realistic
Hello Sims Team,
First, thank you for all the work you put into The Sims. I’ve been playing for years, and I wanted to share a feature that I think would make the game feel much more immersive.
One thing I really miss from the older Sims games is watching Sims actually leave for work or school instead of simply walking to the edge of the lot and disappearing.
My idea is this:
- When kids leave for school, they could walk to the sidewalk where the school bus is already waiting. They would get on, the bus would drive a short distance, and then disappear once it reaches the edge of the map.
- When adults leave for work, they could walk to the sidewalk, pull out their keys, have their car spawn, get in, and drive away before disappearing.
- Even NPC visitors could arrive this way instead of just appearing out of nowhere.
I understand that The Sims 4 isn’t an open-world game and that destinations have to load separately, so I know there are technical limitations. But even a short animation like this would make the world feel so much more alive and realistic.
If spawning vehicles isn’t possible, I’d still love to see some kind of animation that makes Sims arriving and leaving feel more natural. It’s one of the little details I miss most from previous Sims games, right alongside the open-world concept.
Thank you for taking the time to read my suggestion, and thank you for continuing to support The Sims.
Sincerely,
A longtime Simmer
