2025 Terrain Paint Disappearing (hours lost)

I have all packs up to pre-order for the new Business & Hobbies pack as of late February 2025. I have a new gaming laptop, so it’s not that. 64GB working memory/operating system, 8TB storage, windows 11, intel i9 core, and fully updated nvidia drivers.

There are many bugs and issues in TS4, but lately I am struggling with my terrain paint disappearing and after spending hours meticulously painting with different combinations/opacities to get the perfect drive and shading on a lot. It looks like this issue has been happening for years, gets fixed, and then comes back. I can’t find a real fix online other than an update a few years ago that fixed it for a while before it seemingly broke again after For Rent.

I have tried bb.moveobjects on/off, testingcheats on/off, reloads galore, no CC ever installed, and various versions of traveling. I have an older version of the build on the gallery and I can pull the old terrain paint, but it disappears as well. It’s disappearing mid-build without even leaving build mode too. This is a fairly new save that is maybe a month old at this point. I attempted bb.moveobjects off on the town screen and tried loading the lot hoping that might help and my game went into a perma-load lasting longer than 30 minutes before I finally had to ctrl+alt+delete and force a shut down on it.

I’m at my wits end. I’ve spent 6,900+ hours in this game, hundreds if not thousands of dollars spent pre-ordering every pack over the past 10+ ish years, and there are still bugs galore. I love the building and creating in this game, but with that bugging out on me I’m so upset. EA, I need an assist. I obviously love all of the sims, but this is getting hard to continue to enjoy with these issues.

Please help me. I need a solution.
