I've been trying to complete the acting aspiration for two of my current sims and one of them wasn't even nominated for an award and did one gold gig vs my other sim's 4 gold gigs in that week. It makes no sense. The last few sims that won awards for acting, weren't even in the acting career branch. There seems to be no consistancy and now the starlight awards start but no awards are given out. Can you please update this? I'm sick of being stuck on this household for months trying to complete this and I've been grinding.

So this worked for me!! In real life I have nine scripts and I just pumped each one out in Sims and submitted them all at once! I had two bestsellers and the rest were excellent and I finally won an award!!! Thank you so much everyone!!

Also, I don't use any mods anymore I had one for locked doors but then it got updated so I removed it

Is this a world you've been playing for a long while?

One... design flaw... I guess you could call it... Is that the longer you play a world, more and more famous sims end up in the game. More famous sims means less chances you'll win an award.

One thing you could try... if your sim is at say fame level 5, you can set the door requirement at Studio PBP to be fame level 5. That should limit the people who come accept the awards to only that level.

This is one of the reasons I made a mod that extends the award ceremony from 6-11 to 4-12. Gives you more chances to win.

Yes, I actually have leveled other Sims up in their celebrity status to make everything more balanced, I guess it bit me in the butt!

@Psychotps Thanks for the tip! I gave up on that aspiration recently but I'm in a new game now and plan on trying your suggestion.

@JonaO703 I'm not actually sure it'll work. May not. Likely the reason I made the mod. 🙂

Before the mod, what I used to do is when a sim won an award (a sim that wasn't ME...) I would use MCCC's function to force them to leave. They leave and the host immediately proceeds to another award... so I don't have to waste time waiting for them to accept it.

@MrX220 I was having trouble accomplishing the “receive an award” achievement for the actor goal, too. Yesterday my Sim went to the Starlight Accolades and won an award for one of the books she published, and it counted for the “award” goal for her acting aspiration!

It doesn’t take that long to max out the writing skill and pump out a few bestsellers. It might be faster for you to try to have your Sim win an award for something other than acting, since it seems to count towards the aspiration anyway!

Thank you so much!! My sim was actually a writer before he was an actor so I think I may have better luck!! I’m going to try to force my other acting sim to do a gig or two to see if it helps, then I’ll try the book route!! ☺️

I still think books might be your best bet, but this guide suggests which genres are likelier to win. It might be a little out of date, tho!

That article is mostly correct but not completely. Getting nominated and winning are two different things. You won't win without attending the awards show, but you don't have to actually be "watching" it. Just have to be on the lot.

Getting nominated is all about percentages. And you can get an award without being nominated too.

Winning an award is a completely different thing. It's all about timing. Even if you are nominated, winning is strictly a matter of if the host can get through all the other awards from 7-11 before getting to you. The more famous sims in the world, the more they have to get through in that short 7-11 timeframe, and less likely you'll win.

If you have a world with a lot of famous sims, 4 hours simply isn't enough time and you tend to practically never get awards. This is why I made a mod that extends the awards show and doubles the time. Instead of 7-11, I changed it to 4-12. More time available means more likely you'll win in a world overpopulated by famous sims.
