@crinrictHere is the picture I was attempting to show
Edit By Crinrict: Added picture to post that was sent via PM
Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? First time it's happened
What is your current game version number? Most recent as of Nov 2020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Eco lifestye, Parenthood, Tiny Living, Holiday pack
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Can't go on gallery because can't connect to the internet and if I somehow manage to open the gallery tab all pictures have big red Xs
What happens when the bug occurs? It tells me to go online and when I attempt to connect I'm told I can't
What do you expect to see? The gallery being open? Is that the question? Sorry English isn't my first language.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Taken out
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes. Bought packs in bundle for the first time and updated gameI tried
- editing ransomware properties as suggested
- tried uninstalling and almost couldn't reinstall
- tried deleting cache files as suggested
- tried whitelisting app from Windows Security
- tried restarting PC
- taken out mods and CC
I'm pretty sure there are other fixes I tried but these are the ones I can remember. I have been trying to fix it for the past ten hours, give or take. I'm nearing tears because my friend bought me a bundle pack for my birthday, this is the first time I'm playing outside of Base Game and I was so excited to try them out when I noticed I couldn't open the gallery and couldn't browse my gallery notifications anymore. It should also be noted that when the bundle was bought it was by using my account but on her PC since I was over at her place at the time. Does that even make a difference?

Uninstall any antivirus software you use except that you got with your system. Then fix the game on Origin again and try to start the game from Origin and not from the desktop icon.
If the game starts you can install this antivirus again although if you have Windows Defender you don't really need it
However, you have to add the game and Origin to the exceptions there. Add the following files to the exceptions
1, Origin.exe - in Win10 it is sometimes only called Origin without the exe end, but it is the same file.
2. OriginClient.Service.exe
3. TS4.exe or it will be just TS4 without "exe"
4. TS4_x64.exe
All these files are located in the Program Files (x86) folder
However, while Origin is easy to find, you must know the path to the game files
Origin games> The Sims4> game (you can find this folder under g)> Bin and Bin_LE
In each Bin folder, there is one file with the initial name TS4 and each one must be added to the exceptions
I don't work for EA - crinrict5 years agoHero+@H0117_39 What security software are you using ? Do you have more than one ?

@pixies29 Sorry for the late reply. it's been crazy :D
Are you using only one anti virus ? It does look like something is blocking the connection.@BerylBast Merged your post with the master. See answers above and first page although you've already tried a lot, there might be more info.
None that I know of, aside from Windows Defender. But I'll check it when I get home. What do you suggest I do if there's more than one?
- crinrict5 years agoHero+@H0117_39 Decide which one you want to use. You should only use one at the time or they conflict with each other.
No, I only have the defender. I don't have any other antivirus software since I know having more than one causes a lot of problems
