Blue squares in Activity slot

Hi!!

Since the updates for the new expansion pack in late October, I've been having issues with my game. There'll be blue squares where the actions are supposed to be. At some point of me trying to fix my issue, the mood boxes also turned blue. Another symptom of the issue I encountered trying to fix my game was going into Build Mode, building a property, and then getting stuck in Build Mode and being unable to exit the game without quitting the entire app.

I've tried going deleting my mods and it didn't fix anything. I tried deleting the localthumbcache and that didn't work. I've also tried going into Documents/Electronic Arts, labeling "The Sims 4" folder as old, and copying it into my downloads to repair my game without any CC. I restarted my game to create a new Sims 4 folder under Electronic Arts, hoping it would move smoothly without CC or mods and then I could just copy my downloads into the new folder, but that didn't work (image evidence below). Someone please help. I don't know what to do at this point and I've been searching for a solution for about two weeks and a half.
