Building
Whenever I'm trying to build, I can pick up 1 item and place it once. Then if I try again, I can't ever replace an item down, and I have to go to manage worlds. The game was fine 12 hours ago; nothing has changed.

Try coming out of the Sims game, then booting the game up again and reloading the save game again. Sometimes issues can be fixed by reloading the game again.
After reloading the game now I can only pick up 1 item and never place it.
Try repairing the game and see if that helps. Also if you use mods, try removing them and see if the issue remains.
