[BY DESIGN] [S] Always Freezing Weather During Winter Season

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.55.108
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them except for Moschino Stuff Pack
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play in any world (except for Sulani, San Myshuno and Oasis Springs) during the Winter season
What happens when the bug occurs? During the Winter season, it is freezing all the time and the weather never changes
What do you expect to see? The weather is supposed to change to cool or cold, but it never does, it's stuck on "freezing" permanently
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. This issue has only been occurring after the latest patch, 1.55.108

Play in any world (except for Sulani, San Myshuno and Oasis Springs) during the Winter season. During the Winter season, it is freezing all the time and the weather never changes. The calendar shows different weather forecasts for the week but it's still always freezing. The weather is supposed to change to cool or cold, but it never does, it's stuck on "freezing" permanently. This issue has only been occurring after the latest patch, 1.55.108. I've never had this issue happen before this patch. I know it's not any of my mods because it happens even after I removed all of them and started a new save file to test it on a vanilla game.

I've also seen this issue happen with James Turner's most recent videos of his Rags to Witches let's play, where it's constantly freezing 100% of the time, everyone is cold and you can't plant anything indoor or outdoors, and the weather never changes to anything else but freezing, despite playing for several days in Glimmerbrook during Winter.

  • Not sure if it was mod induced or not, but I did a game repair in Origin and the weather finally went back to normal in my save 🙂

Can't believe that all I needed to do was a game repair

@WahserMrWindow I'm glad you solved it. The 8 people that clicked me too are a bit of a concern which is why I'm leaving on needs info for now.

Hopefully someone could add some more info.

@crinrict  I me too'd because I just had like 3 winters in a row in my game (mine are set to 14 days) where the weather was "freezing" all the time. I've been having to have my broke households keep the thermostat on heat all the time because otherwise the kids are always cold indoors. So when I saw this thread it kinda sounded like the same issue, though I hadn't thought of it as a bug prior to that, I just figured I was unlucky.

Gonna try a game repair and see if it helps.

Edit: Alright, so I ran a game repair last night but I'll have to wait until it's winter again in my game before I'm able to fully test. Don't feel like starting a new save just to test right now. However I will say that the repair smoothed out my game a bit for sure, my Sims and pets have been idling less and not having as many problems with eating. I really need to repair more often. xD
