Camera only has “Put in inventory” option when set up on a tripod

I have taken all my mods out and tried repairing my game. This has been an ongoing bug for me even before I started playing with mods. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. I’ve searched around on this site and Reddit and can’t seem to find a post of someone experiencing the same issue. I’d really appreciate any input on this. Thank you so much.

    Try the following

    - Close the game
    - Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
    - Repair the game
    - Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry.
    - Start a new save game
    - Check if you still have the error
    - Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.

    Hello crinrict !

First of all thank you so much for your advice! I’m not really computer savvy and I wasn’t entirely sure what you meant by “rename”. But after I little research I made a new file on my desktop and moved all the files from my game into that one. I then repaired my game. Upon loading into the game I got a “unrecognized video card” notification. Not sure what that meant. So I proceeded to make a new game. Bought the camera and tripod set it up and it still only has the options of “make and heirloom” and “put in inventory”. So no still doesn’t work, hoping I did everything correctly.

Oh my goodness. I left the game alone for a few seconds to type you a message. Clicked on the camera and now the usual options showed up. I have a feeling it’ll go back to not working again as I said this isn’t the first time I’ve experienced this “bug” or whatever’s happening.

Yup! Almost seems like it’s roll of the dice if the options showed up or not. So strange!

Are you making sure to always click on the camera and not the tripod ?

As for the graphics message: That usually occurs if your graphics card isn't in the 'database' of known cards. This sometimes happens if the card is too new. If it goes away, you can just ignore it. The option basically helps with auto-setting your graphics settings. You can just adjust those manaully if they don't fit.
