can't set ownership of pet

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? all of them
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? get a dog and have a roommate or family
What happens when the bug occurs? the dog is both yours and your roommates you can't set ownership of pets at all
What do you expect to see? I expect to be able to sat ownership of the pet two only one sim
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

its been this way since I got the pack but I think it might be a bug it just seems odd that just because someone moves in with you your pet belongs to them now

pretty sure this is not a bug. There's simply no such option (there wasn't for Sims 3 either and pretty sure for Sims 2 and 1 as well.

If you have any links/sources where the devs said there was such a thing, please point me towards those.

pretty sure this is not a bug. There's simply no such option (there wasn't for Sims 3 either and pretty sure for Sims 2 and 1 as well.

What would you expect to be different between a Sim that owns a pet, and another one who also lives in the house but is not the owner?

the loyal trait does not mean much if the pet is loyal to anyone who moves in
I would like that trait to be exclusive to the owner
yes I'm really enjoying the pack I've done every challenge so I think I will do this one as well @EA_Mai

thank you @EA_Mai speaking of adoption I think sims should get a whim to adopt kids I think that would add a lot to the
game and it seems odd that they only want to make babies not adopt them I know its off topic but its been on my mind for awhile

I have a personal built apartment lots(1 room per 1 person), and 4-7 different sims live in each lots.
It'll be nice if I could set an ownership for specific household sim. Pet could re-use parent-child relationship code.

@comicsforever Hi! I don’t know if this will work cause I personally haven’t tried it, but when you try it says you can’t change it for pre-existing Sims, so if you were to adopt a pet from the computer and go back into cast and edit it however, it could still be however you like, but maybe it would say it is only the person who adopted it’s pet? I don’t know for sure, but I think that might work. I’ll try myself and tell you what happens!
