[CL] Elevator in Penthouse disappeared

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing a frustrating glitch in The Sims 4 and I'm hoping someone can help or that the development team is aware of the issue. I own the For Rent and City Living expansion packs, and I’ve decorated two penthouses in the game. However, the elevator in these penthouses disappeared completely. Now, I can’t place a new elevator, which means my tenants can’t access their homes at all. I’ve tried a few basic troubleshooting steps, like using the move objects cheat and repairing the game files, but no luck so far. Has anyone else run into this problem? And if so, did you find any solutions? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Acelya26​  Which penthouses is it where the elevator went missing?  Is it one where you can grab and move the elevator (or is it one where the elevator is outside the apartment and cannot be grabbed?  If it is one of the penthouses (they all have penthouse in the lot name), then you should be able to just place a new elevator.  If the game won't let you place one and gives you an error massage saying something is already in that spot (some type of invisible object then), then you could try turning MOO on to place the replacement elevator.  Whether the elevator will work after you do that is the unknown.  It should but might not.  In that case, the only thing I can think of left to try is to save the lot to your library.  Bulldoze the lot.  Place the copy you just made back.  Then see if you can place the elevator.

    If you are talking about any of the other apartment buildings, then you can't place a new elevator in build mode in a vanilla game.  It can be done via a mod, T.O.O.L by TwistedMexi.  This post explains how to do that.  No elevator in an apartment | EA Forums - 8574668

    There is a 3rd case involving elevators when a penthouse has been remodeled into rental apartments like those in For Rent.  The common issue has been making sure that the elevator is in shared space rather than in a space assigned to an individual apartment.

    Could you please provide the following information

    • Are you using mods/cc in your game ? Please remove them and test without them if you do.
    • What platform are you playing on (PC, Mac, Playstation, XBox). Please pick a thread tag for that.
