Corrupted sims 4 save NO mods

When I am at the loading screen after hitting "resume game", it begins to load as normal with plumbob, and right before it goes to enter my household, the screen blanks out and it goes right back at my desktop or continues to load forever until I have to force quit the game. I believe I have a corrupted save file. I have repaired, clear cache, uninstalled-reinstalled app. I also made sure PC is up to date, compatible, etc. Everything on my end is fine. Please help. I also tried to move my Sims 4 file and try a new game without all my saves and it worked fine, so it definitely is something in my save folder.

Thanks for any help!

  • Yes. Im often playing "reload file" and writing over my last save file.

But then if I try to edit an old lot or a previous household in that same save file it crashes.

  • It also says I have a scratch folder inside the save, which everything is going to, I never had that prior to moving my sims 4 folder around to start a new game.

@dukaslove The scratch folder is a temp folder that gets removed when you close the game. If the game crashes, it stays.

It does sound like a corrupted file. Do you have any backups ?

Pretty sure i am having the same issue...I saved my game earlier and continued to play. I went into change sim (I have 6), and it stopped working from then once i clicked the tick at the bottom right hand corner. I had force closed by game. Did all the steps, and found this. Hope i can get some help with this too. Everything is exactly as above comment.
  •  I dont, but I have onedrive, so technically everything is backed up....right? Im not super techy so I truly dont know.
