Hi.I realised fridges in my game do not really share inventory. For eg :I have 3 fridges. 1 is in black colour, the other 2 whites. If I cooked a family dish, and placed it into the Black fridge, my Sims would only "Grab Leftovers" from this fridge. To test them further, I hide this Black fridge in a separate room (with no door) and the Sims would rather cook a new dish. They will not grab from the other White fridges. And if I force them to "Grab Leftovers" from those two Fridges, they will show the "Can't access" bubble thought because (it seems) they only insist to grab the food from the hidden Black Fridge. And the funny thing is when I open the inventory of all 3 fridges, they share the same dish in each inventory! The problem is the Sims would only grab leftovers from the fridge where I FIRST placed the dish.I don't remember when this issue started happened but it has been like that for the past many months.Oh, I also did a full re-install of the game and that couldn't fix this problem.And all MODs removed as well.Thank you.

@Simbeano I have a sort of "vacation resort" that I created on Sulani with four suites and some common areas (a lobby, a tv room, and an outdoor bar). I gave it the "Generic" lot type so that my Sims could stay there overnight on unofficial vacations for as many days as they like. Each suite has a kitchenette with one of the DU mini-fridges. I've noticed on several occasions where NPC townies in the other suites can access leftovers my Sims placed in the mini-fridge in their room. I don't know if this is because of the lot type (Generic) or because it's the mini-fridges are different than the regular refrigerators. I haven't played this lot since the June 3 patch but I have played it fairly recently. I'll test it again today to see if things still work this way.

@Simbeano, thank you for trying the steps to see if any of your Mods/CC is causing this! 😇 At least you don't have to worry about that! 😉I did some more testing. When I fenced in the original fridge (the one where the leftovers were actually put into), all my Sims went to the next fridge, and did not cook their own food. Then I took down the walls I had used to fence in the favorite fridge and but it into the basement, 2 floors down, but not behind any barricades or doors. My Sims could access the basement (I tested), but so far they have been ignoring the favorite fridge for one of the others that are still in the kitchen! 🤨To summarize:1) My Sims preferred the original fridge (fridge #1) over the other 3, and this was the one the leftovers were actually placed into.2) When fridge #1 was walled in they went to fridge #23) When fridge #1 was not blocked anymore, but instead placed down 2 floors in the basement. Sims still got leftovers from fridge #2! I tried with both stairs and ladders. 4) Sims never touched fridges #3 and #4 while testingSo, since I can't replicate what you are seeing in your game, it could be that your Sims, or the fridge, or the house/lot are glitched. Do you see the same behavior in other households?🤔Can you try it with Sims in a new Save Game file and see if you get the same results?🤔You can also try having your household travel (like to a park, gym, or museum) and then return and see if that helps (sometimes this resets things).🙂As a last resort you can try moving them out of their house and then moving them back. But that is tedious and then you have to redecorate their house when they move back, which is why this is a last resort. 😞Please update us on your findings! 😇

@Simbeano, there could be a couple of things going on here. It could be that whatever fridge you first place the leftovers in , the Sims will gravitate to that one. I had 4 fridges one black and one white in the Crisponix Budget Dee-Lux, and one black and one white in the Crisponix Splendid. The leftovers were placed in the white Budge fridge . I had a hard time getting my Sims to get leftovers as they would usually opt for a quick meal, which I would cancel and have them throw it out. One of the Sims cooked a new meal, but that was with all 4 fridges available for use. They did seem to favor the first fridge (the white Crisponix Budget Dee-Lux), but this was the first fridge that was placed in their house as well as the fridge that they put the leftovers into.I then blocked off the white Crispinix Budget fridge and then they got quick meals and leftovers out of the black Budget fridge, totally ignoring the more expensive fridges. So it could be placement of the fridges, the order you bought them, or something else. Also, you did not say which fridge that you had this happen, only the colors. I can test the exact fridges if you tell me which ones they are, as what you are experiencing might only happen on that type of fridge! 😉Finally, do you use any Mods or Custom Content (CC)? 🤔 This could also change the way Sims choose which fridge they use. 🤔 I do not use any Mods or CC. Please update us on your situation! 😇

@Simbeano, Thank you for telling us which fridges you have tested this ! 😇 At least we know that it doesn't matter what type of fridge it is! 😉And while that is good that you removed all your CC/Mods to test it, sometimes that is not enough as bits of corrupted data can remain behind. To fix this you will need to also delete the local thumb cache package.file (and it wouldn't help to repair you game in Origin. ). Here is the steps that you can try to make sure those corrupted bits are dealt with: Please do all of the following in order:1) Move the Mods Folder to your desktop2) Delete the localthumbcache.package file in the game folder. (This is very important!) 🤨3) Fix you game in Origin by logging in and go to Library, then right-click on The Sims 4 and choose the "Repair Game" option from the list. Wait until Origin finishes repairing all your packs and not just the base game.4) Now, when you turn on your game again, it will create a new mods folder that will be empty. Check to see if your game is now working without mods/CC.5) Now you can try adding back items from your Mods folder one at a time checking your game each time to see which item is causing your game to not work properly. If you have a lot of items, you can try the 50/50 Method. The CC creators will usually update the CC items and Mods after these updates, so when you find out which one is the culprit, you can get the updated version from whoever made that item of CC in the first place. You should try these steps any time you have problems in your game to rule out CC/Mods problems. It is the responsibility of the Mods/CC creators to update their items anytime EA releases a patch/update, and it is the responsibility of the people who use Mods/CC to make sure they are using the most recent version, which in your case was June 10.I will test it some more, but I have not seen the same thing where if you block off the fridge the Sims prefer they then ignore the other fridges and cook instead. Mine just go on to the next fridge if they can't get to the preferred one. 🤔

@Simbeano I can confirm that I am still able to access the contents of a DU mini-fridge from any other mini-fridge in that Sulani resort (there are four mini-fridges in that lot). It might be that the mini-fridges are different than the regular refrigerators or that it's working differently because my resort is on a "Generic" lot rather than a Residential lot. I'll try a bit more testing on this later today.

I didn't even try it with the single serving leftovers, but I didn't try it with the Party serving leftovers either. I had a family of 3 that I tested with so I only made Family servings! Granted the glitch happens in your game does happen with the Family size servings, but you do bring up a good point that different serving sizes don't all act the same! 💡

Yes, for some reason traveling with your Sims and back often resets everything! Not exactly a preventative measure, but it is a good workaround! I recommend doing this any time your Sims act funny. It doesn't take much time or effort and it can't hurt! 🙌

This does sound more like a bug since it keeps happening over and over after each time you clear it.🤔 The only way I know of things still messing up from Mods and CC is if you fail to delete the localthumbcache.package file , since leaving it can often mean you are leaving corrupted data behind. But since you did that then that clearly isn't happening here! 🙌

I can't use the refrigerator properly because of that error. I want it to be perfectly shared or separated.

I used to have two fridges (one in the nursery, one in the kitchen) in a couple of saves (ironically the same house in two different saves--Ophelia Villa). Some things I noticed:
1. They always want to use the last installed fridge for everything. If I tell them to cook in the kitchen, they walk into the nursery to get ingredients, then carry them into the kitchen to chop and cook. Super annoying.
2. They do share an inventory, but if I say get leftovers at the same time I have to be super specific. "Alexander, get leftover salad in the kitchen. Cassandra, get leftover eggs and toast in the nursery." Otherwise, they both go for the same dish and it's "in use" and pathing wave. You have to open the fridge and select an individual dish and say "grab serving" and it has to be a different dish for each Sim.
I finally got rid of all second fridges because in one room the nursery was Alexander's tower, and I was sick of them walking up two flights of stairs every time they cooked.
