game problem

i recently updated sims before playing and as it was downloading it kept stopping and cancelling out, saying there was files missing or error or issues. that happened when i tried downloading on Steam. when i tried EA it downloaded like normal, and i got in, but i dont have any of my previously bought packs or my saved builds, everythings gone except my main playing characters and their home. but literally everything ive built and bought over the years are gone. and i have no idea what to do. 

when i normally go to play sims i play via steam, but as of this moment it wont download, so ive been using EA sims. but i think its different accounts.
