Game won't load household after new update

Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? The latest one
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them except the star wars one and jungle adventures.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I repaired the game, removed mods, and turned off the mods in game options. 
What happens when the bug occurs? When I open the game, it loads the play screen. It won't load a household, it crashes everytime I try to load the household.
What do you expect to see? The game not crashing
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system?

I was playing often, making no updates then as soon as the large base game update occurred on oct 19/20 it now wont let me load the game.
