Why can't my sim give a "friendly gift" to a sim with fame? I tried cheating the relation to max and just 1 fame star, but there is no way to gift anything... I find that a tad annoying as my sims often gift friendly gifts in order to pass items between households.
Is there a way around this?

I still think that when relation is max in the green the two could act more like if they knew eachother. I recall a sim going steady and visiting her boyfriend's parents for the first time. She spent hours to greet her possible mom-in-law, because it turned out that bf's mom had a fame star... I understand a new relation should then be initiated by the celebrity being the actively played, but in some situations I miss a more normal way to communicate. RL celebs are not like this, LOL.

Have you tried asking for an autograph? I believe if you have that sims' autograph in your inventory you can give them a gift.
