I would love to grow eggplants again

Just a small issue i would like to see debated on this board is: the option to grow outstanding plants.
In the Sims 3 we had the option, when the Sim had reached a certain level of gardening skill (8), to graft all sorts of materials into the plants. As I recall, there were Cheese plants, meat or flesh plants and Eggplants. We also had the opportunity to graft book plants. Besides using the harvest for cookery skills an nice meals, we were also able to sell the harvests. It could bring Gardening back into the heart of the Sims just a little bit more. I can imagine grafting vampire books of even study books that could make a small fortune just before entering the money plants. Of course, I know there are already many opportunities to duplicate stuff when you have all the EP's, but for the players that only have the base game it could be a welcome idea to have some more ways of getting a step onto the Sims ladder.
In the Sims 3 we also had the opportunity to find all sorts of seeds. I kind of miss this game play. I would have young Nerds running around scouring the maps in order to find plants to grow. Nowadays we are somewhat stuck with Sim trophies. May be an option for the developers for the next update or series?

  • @Trismagistos  I know this is mostly a feedback post, but for clarification, there is no grafting—attaching a branch of one plant or tree onto the stem or trunk of another—in Sims 3.  In TS3, sims could learn to plant eggs, cheese, burger patties, and raw steaks to create plants that produced more of the same.  But those were standalone plants that only grew the one product, not grafts.

There was also an Omni plant, which a sim could "feed" an item; the plant then produce an average of three of those items the next time it was ready to harvest.  This wasn't grafting either: the plant would be sort of fertilized with the item and would then make identical copies.  And then it wouldn't produce any more harvestables until it was fed again.

Although I much prefer Sims 3 overall, the Sims 4 gardening activity is much more well-developed and varied.  Sure, sims can't grow meat or dairy products, but it seems more reasonable to add a chicken coop or milk cows anyway, and it would broaden gameplay instead of just adding a few more harvestables.

Thanks for sprucing u my memory, @puzzlezaddict.
It has been to long since I played The Sims 3. Even to the point that I was mixing up the gameplay of the one ( 3) with the other (4).
But nevertheless, I still think it would be a nice idea to have the possibility of growing Eggplants or as I stated to graft something like the plants that were used in the Sims 3. It could also add to the culinary game play and probably to the cooking skills of the Sims in general.
To me the cheese plant, meat plant and also the omni plant for that matter would be a great return as a game play and I ment it as a suggestion to the developers to contemplate such an addition in a stuff pack or may be an expansion pack.
Adding a chicken coop or a dairy farm option with cows and even sheep in a farming pack would really be great.
The sheep idea would also fit nicely in with the new knitting pack that is on the brink of being released. 'Harvesting' fleeces and spinning the yarn could also be a nice addition.
In the same way this type of pack would also join in to the thread about horses in another thread on this forum.
But since my sims and I always have been keen gardeners i would definitely like some extras on that front.
