I would post this in the bug section. Make sure to add if you have a script mod or cc or you play vanilla (no cc).
I love the smell of vanilla and pineapple mixed together. So sweet!🙂

The same thing is happening to me lately too! I even deleted all my CCs and it's not them! I ended up getting a mod to help with this problem as it was taking me so long to do anything in the game! It's by LittleMsSam and she keeps her mods updated. I don't know what platform you play The Sims 4 on or if you have any mods installed though.
Here is the link, I hope it helps! LittleMsSam Autonomy Tweaks
Did you check in this Game Save to see if your options are set to full autonomy? In the open game save go to Game Options > Gameplay:
If you recover the save to an earlier save, is the issue still there? Is the issue there if you open another household?
You can try making sure the game is fully updated and running a game repair.
Did you test with no Mods or CC and remove the localthumbcache.package file? If there is any step of the following that you did not do, please try doing all of this in this order, even if you did it before:Close your game. Move your entire Mods folder to your desktop (save it for reference) & delete the localthumbcache.package file in your 'The Sims 4' folder. Then open your game and create a brand new save and see if the issue is still present. Then exit the game without saving. If the issue was gone without the Mods folder, then it's likely the issue is with a Mod or CC.

Hi SheriGR,
Thank you so much for spending the time to answer my post.
I have just checked and yes my autonomy is set to FULL. I have already deleted all my Mods and CCs and done all that you've suggested. I've even reinstalled The Sims 4 and started again. I delete localthumbcache and avatarcache on a regular basis. I've tried everything and it still hangs and I stand around doing nothing all the time. I work more on fixing the game than I do playing it, most days. I've tested with no mods and in different households with and without mods or ccs and even in new games. It works for a little while then autonomy starts to glitch again after about an hour of playing.I've repaired the game so many times too.
I've updated ALL my software and the game. I check for updates every time I go onto my laptop. I've gone into my laptop and made sure there's no dust. I already had a 4 fan platform under my laptop but bought a new one just in case that was the reason, and it's not. It doesn't help that it's summer here, but I have an air conditioner and the fan going when ever I'm on my computer. I tested my laptop on that site and it says my laptop is well capable to run The Sims 4 on it...and then some. I'm almost out of ideas.

I don't know if you have done this already but I would start a fresh game/ new save with nothing in it- no cc no mods no households.
Start a new game from scratch with nothing in it?... I'm sure you tried this.
How frustrating this must be. 😕
