Multiple copies of sim in family tree

Hey everyone,

I just had a weird glitch in my game that I’m hoping someone can help me figure out! I got a phone call in-game telling me that my Sim had died, so naturally, I freaked out and double-clicked her to find her location. Luckily, she was alive and not being visited by the Grim Reaper. Phew!

However, when I checked the moodlets, it mentioned that a family member had died. The thing is, my Sim’s the first generation in this save file, and she doesn’t have any other family members besides her living children. So, I checked the family tree to figure out what was going on, and to my surprise, I saw four other versions of her, identical copies, like she’s been duplicated as a sibling!

I have no idea how this happened. Has anyone experienced this before? I'm worried that if I delete these duplicate Sims, I might lose my main Sim too. Has anyone had a similar glitch? Any advice on how to safely remove them without messing up my save?
