My sims child aged up weirdly and game crashed

Hiya! My sims child just aged up to teen but the problem is she grew into a “skinny freakish child” instead, which was really weird and I thought the game had just made her super super thin which happens quite a lot lol, then I went into CAS to tweak her appearance. The other people in the household weren’t able to click on and I could only do one sim. Which I thought was weird so I exited cas to go back and try again. However it took me to the loading screen of doom and well yeah basically aging up my kid crashed the game. Btw like a minute earlier I aged up my teen to a young adult. No issues occurred there everything went smoothly. After the most recent update there have been many issues like this one and bugs. For example the high school system is really bugged. My sims don’t get to go to prom; the pop up fro the pre party comes but never ends once I go and is also not an event and prom doesn’t exist now, which is really  frustrating, same with graduation and making promposal signs or asking sims to prom etc.. 

I really hope this is sorted as I love the game so much, and this is really sad. Thank you :)
