Okay, a moderator has merged all the conversations regarding the new pie menu, so now it has become a discussion where both those who like it and those who don't can compare notes.
I personally like it very much, it just needs to be fixed up a bit. Before it was really tiring to have to constantly click on friendly interactions to find the one you want. Having said that, I continue to post pictures of suggestions to fix some entries that were not oppurtunately included in any menu.
Give emotional support (a special conversation topic for married Sims who fullfill the Soulmate aspiration) would be better in Friendly>Affection
I've been attempting to learn the new wheel for a few days now.
It's just not fun...
I agree there was a lot of clutter or things that could have been bundled in a different way. But it seems no one actually asked the players what they thought of it.
With big changes like this, especially in such an important feature of the game, there should always be a way to revert it back.
I have been playing Sims games for over 20 years (Hot date had just been released), and the original is still my favourite. The Social wheel, in my opinion, was better than the current one.
Honestly, I wonder who they consulted for this social wheel change. I'm not saying they should have asked the whole community how to bundle it up and so on. But at least give us a way to change it to the true "Traditional" mode. Give the people the option to old or the new one, AND! why not go a step further and give people the option to bundle this stuff up themselves in the options' menu? Would be time consuming but we already lost so many good features from the previous games, at least throw us a bone and allow us to do something unique.
@DarkWitch1800 I agree with you. Infants are adorable but added nothing other than bugs and stress to the game. At least with toddlers you can build skills, have then learn be more independent. New borns already serve the "We can't do anything" stage, the only thing extra that I see with infants is the fact that they can move around, and sometimes when you're trying to take care of them go into corners a normal sim can't.
The thread merge confused the hell out of me, as I'm the one that started one of the threads and I start getting emails with replies completely all over the place. Not too fussed though.
Oh dear...
This is starting to give me the sinking feeling that it's trying to point us towards Growing Together (like the changing tables). I mean, some interactions are now only working if you have GT. It's been difficult enough to play with broken console controls (which we are told will be "fixed") but now live mode is just as difficult and more painful for my RSI trying to find the interactions I need. I can't add more content until controls are fixed and I also don't add more content until months have passed to allow for fixes. GT is on my schedule for December. Has my game become even less accessible for a sales tactic? I dearly hope not. Maybe I'm cynical.
I think again, a simple compromise has been missed. They could have had a standard couple of pages of general dialogue without mean/mischief/flirty interactions followed by sections, (plus 19 is overkill).
I'd have Ask About Day (now lost to me), Discuss Interests, some funny interactions, Heartfelt Compliment, something about the Festival they're at if they're at one (again, lost in my game) for starters on the first page with a few more polite general interactions. I don't need "Shout Forbidden Words" or Flirty stuff with a stranger, bff or married Sim and I don't need mischief on the first page like I've got. That pushes me to have to search so chats take ages.
Small talk and Silliness complicate things for me too as Friendly and Funny already do the job.
Also they've got to fix autonomy. My Sims are virtually at the point of The Singularity after this patch (shivers 😱).
