@iambulletproof83 I have not played 'Off-the-Grid' yet, so I tested in 'Admiral's Wreckage' with a family with a toddler. (Note: strangely enough this lot comes with the 'Off-the-Grid' lot trait, yet the shower that comes with the lot is 'The Peregrine', and it does not work 'Off-the-Grid'.)

I added the Strangerville DIY shower/bath combo, and the IL shower. I found that an adult and a child can only 'Take a Quick & Tepid Shower' in the shower or the bath/shower combo. I also found that the only way to use the bath for both of these bath/shower combos was to click the toddler, choose 'Toddler Care' and choose a bath option from that menu. (Note: I did not find that any of the bath only baths had the 'Functional While Off-the-Grid' feature.) The only way to use the  I also tested the basegame "Under the Sea Clawfoot Tub & Shower" with the same results.

So... I'm wondering if the reason you could not use the showers mentioned above is because of a Mod or CC? Please try the following (click the spoiler tag for directions):

Please try the following in this exact order without skipping any steps, even if you’ve done some of these steps already:

    • Exit your game then exit Origin. Drag the Mods folder from your 'The Sims 4' folder onto your desktop (for future reference) then delete the localthumbnailcache.package file in your 'The Sims 4' folder. (When you restart the game it will automatically create a new Mods folder.)
    • Next please run a game repair [ Open Origin, click 'Game Library' then right-click Sims 4 > Repair Game ]. Make sure to let it run until it has completed all repairs (it will do the base-game first, then run through each of your expansions/packs).

Do not re-add any or your Mods or CC at this time. Please then restart your game and do not enter your previous game-save but begin a new game. See if the issue is present in this new game-save.

If this fixes the issue you can re-add your Mods/CC one at a time to see which were conflicting with the function/causing the glitch - but do not re-add the old Resource.cfg file from the old Mods folder, as it is possible for it to have become corrupted. If you have a lot of Mods or CC you can do so by via the 50/50 method. Let me know if you need directions on this.

  • @iambulletproof83 Not all of the bath/shower combos work while off the grid, none of the bath-only baths are, and only some of the shower-only showers work off-the -grid. Please make sure you choose a bath/shower or shower that states "Functional while Off-the-Grid" in it's description. Please reference screenshot:

  • I did choose the tub that said functional off the grid, the one from strangeville, it is not working also the shower that comes with island living too 🤷‍♂️. I ended up using a MOD just to be able to make it playable 🤷‍♂️
