PR skills from EA and Moderators/ Beta testing community....
Two things two bring up ...
Firstly, I have to point out that PR skills from moderators and EA Team members aren't exactly up to scratch especially when it comes to reporting game and bug issues. The automatic response is "post a DX Dialog and your system Specs" and nothing else. And when an EA team member chimes in, it's pretty much the same thing. This response has an unspoken implication that the issue is solely with the end-user and is rather poor PR and tends to frustrate and offend people. However, if the response was more along the lines of "Thank you for reporting the issue, I will pass it onto the developers immediately. If you could also provide a DX Dialog and your system specs that can help us to rule out your system having an issue." That will not only give end-users more assurance, it will also have us not feel like we're being ignored. Look, I understand that in some instances the issue may indeed be with the end-users system, but i think you'll find that instance is a distinct minority when compared to the amount of times that it is a game/patch issue.
Secondly, I think we need to go back to EA/Maxis involving a Beta-Testing community as was done in the first decade of the sims franchise when packs were released with no issues. When EA/Maxis decided to completely bypass the Beta-Testers and dump games on the general public (circa 2012/13), that is when issues starting popping up left, right and centre. And when EA/Maxis started going down the DLC road .... that is when every release has been plagued with issues at various times for various people. Please, bring back the beta-testers. Okay, it will mean we'll have to wait a bit longer for a bug free game/patch/expansion/kit/whatever, but - honestly - gamers would be willing to wait if it meant their games would have no problems.
