@Rae_Regenbogen @NLSutton92 There has been an issue that may still be happening where Sims put books away into the storage boxes. Do you have any storage boxes they can access?
So, depending on the situation, if you didn't see a different Sim swipe them you could look there also.
@SheriGR After some digging I put the culprit in a household and found the two books in her inventory. As I said to PugLove the sim had no klepto trait or anything like that. I made the sim go to the original household and put the books on the ground outside the house. Then went back to the original household and got the books back. So all sorted now! Just don't understand why they are able to put objects they don't own in their inventory...
@NLSutton92 So glad the mystery is solved! That is so weird since no traits and no Eco pack contributed. If others post here and their traits and pack don't explain it either, I think this may make a good bug report if you want to open one. @PoptartJuniper, what are your thoughts on that? Have you seen others on PS4 with this?
I’ve read some bug reports about NPCs stealing even without the community action plan. If it’s happening to you, maybe it’s an issue with the update rather than the Eco EP.
I agree that we should be able to report thieves to the police! I still don’t understand why they didn’t add something like that in when they made Get To Work. As police, we have the ability to investigate and fingerprint/book people, so it would be super cool if those abilities could be related to an actual NPC who steals from your house! I have this “secret” hope that they’ll make some sort of justice pack with detectives, lawyers, judges, and real playable sentences. Lol. I won’t hold my breath, but I’m gonna harbor that hope! IDK why, but I’d love a good prison sentence or house-arrest (with ankle bracelet) for my evil sims. I’m sure this is way too complicated, but I STILL HOPE. 😂
@Rae_Regenbogen I have all the packs, including 'Get to Work' (with the detective job, which I haven't played)... but I've not seen an option to report them. I really wish you could do that - it makes sense! You should also be able to report a vamp who trespasses in the middle of the night!
@Rae_Regenbogen @SheriGR Yes! There should be like a phone option where you have the Gardening and fishing section to 'Report person' and then you can choose the sim and say what they did. And with regards to the vampires trespassing (haven't had that happen to me yet) I think the magical realm should be able to deal with them in some way, would be a brilliant crossover of packs!
I also like the idea of having an actual prison haha! They should make a prison pack to go along with the detective and law jobs. I love the detective job as it's so much fun! Would be fun to have like prison jobs too!

Well, whether there was some compelling exception for this Sim to be capable of taking books not their own (like the crazy Eco Lifestyle 'Sharing is Caring' N.A.P. - which drives me crazy and I disabled!) that we know of or not to make this have some reasonable explanation (though I personally don't call 'Sharing is Caring' as reasonable - 😂), I'm very glad to hear you hunted them down and made them return the books to their rightful owner. Justice s served. 🙂🙌
