Re: Decorating for the seasons question

@starlitskie Hello!  I totally understand wanting to save some time there but, as daunting as it may be, I suggest decorating for each season separately.  I've noticed some inconsistency with existing decorations "counting" toward the holiday goals.  For example, if I leave my "Halloween" decorations up, sometimes they count toward the "harvestfest" holiday.  However, not all sims in the household will get the decorations completion and I end up having to change some things while those sims are active.  In general, I've noticed that if I just wait and decorate for each holiday separately, all sims in the household will get credit for the decorations.

I haven't tried saving a lot with specific decorations for each holiday, so I don't know if your plan will work but I wonder if you may run into issues with having enough household funds to load a new lot for every holiday.

Overall, I find it rather rewarding to choose specific decorations for each holiday.  Personally, I very much like choosing specific decorations for Halloween and Winterfest.  As for other lots in your game that you would like to decorate but aren't actively playing, the game will automatically decorate unplayed lots based on the settings for the holidays.  Hope this helps.

I find it easiest to use the loft decoration storage boxes as you can just click it and select the season decorations you want or customize the default.

If the decorations are already up you just need to enter build/buy and close it again for the decoration objective to count It does not matter what decorations only the number of decorative objects do.

  • Sorry but what are the loft storage boxes? I haven't actually looked through the decorations yet so may figure out myself! Only just got some new packs recently so haven't looked through all of seasons yet

@starlitskieIt's called the "Attic Stack Decoration Box" and I usually just get it by searching for "attic" if I lose the "show holiday objects" pop-up. I've even found that if you use everyday decorations with it, your sims get "decorated" credit as soon as they step foot on the level where the box is, regardless of whether it's decorated for the right season. It doesn't work with Apartments or dorms (dorms skip that tradition anyway), but otherwise that's literally the only thing you need to satisfy the tradition.
