Re: Harold Tours the Countryside

@DonroaAkashu , everyone is entitled to their opinion.😉  You can always ignore any clothing items or objects that feature llamas.
But I think that players, in part,  might be somewhat responsible for the llama being added to the game in Cottage Living.🤨  A few years ago when discussing a farming pack, several people mentioned llamas (either alongside sheep, or in place of sheep) as the animal that we could get wool for in the game, if we ever got a farming pack. Those that weren't thinking of it, said they loved the idea!  That is not to say that the Sim Gurus wouldn't have come up with the idea on their own, but since many of us did specifically ask for llamas on the farm, that could only reinforce the developers that this was a good idea! 😂 So many of us players are partly to blame, at least indirectly! 😅

Thank you, I do think I am entitled to my opinion, and to post it here too! 🙂

And, yes, I do ignore the items referring to llamas and rabbits and whatnot. I just don't want the theme to ruin anymore objects that could be pretty and useful.
Ah, I wonder, did they post in The Sims Forum 😉

@DonroaAkashu , the Freezer Bunny (which im guessing is the bunny you mean -- it is pink and cartoonish and kind of square in shape) wasn't always part of the Sims  (it wasn't in Sims 1 , only being introduced in the Sims 2 as, ironically, an Easter Egg!😂  ).  However, many players really thought it was cute, and so they added more of them in the game. 😊 So while important to the Sims series, it isn't as important as llamas or plum bobs are.

I don't know if they posted in the Official Sims 4 forums or not about adding llamas with a farm pack.🤔  All I know is that it has been discussed here at AHQ on one of the farming threads (perhaps more than one) ! 😉

Yes, I think it only natural that a lot of players think  all sorts of features in the game are cute, since it is a game that is directed to young people, but with a broad attraction that appeals to many different people, not just the young. I also think that there is a definate difference in who let their voice be heard on forums, as well as what they explicitly state as disliked, and how often they do so; and that this has to do with age and upbringing and interest in forums to name just three factors. Not being stated on forums does not mean that the opinion doesn't exist.

@DonroaAkashu , no,  I agree that just because it isn't on the forums doesn't mean that the opinions don't exist. However, most people are more likely to complain than to compliment (I've worked retail... most customers are far more likely to complain about an employee than to be praised, so when you are praised it is very sweet indeed!) And I think this is even more true on the internet! 😓 So even though I'm sure there are people who don't like certain features like the llamas, since the complaints about them are not what people are complaining about, and usually when they are mentioned it is in a positive light, that says a lot! 🤨

I would say that it also has to do with personality.  I am not young, but I do have a playful personality.  (But you knew that probably from my Avatar alone! 🤣 )

Yes, I have never seen so many people complain about something they profess they like, as with the sims games. Angry, aggressively, whiny and everywhere there are simmers gathering, whether this be a public forum or not. I am a little shocked by it, especially since I think a lot of these posters actually are not teenagers but adults.

My point was that I think there are lots of players having opinions about features, like the llamas, not particularly liking them, just not expressing this in public. It is after all, a much too silly feature to even contemplate and give substance to by focusing on. Much better to ignore it like any other degrading thing och person :P
