@DeanC34 In the March update there was some attention to this issue. Update 3/23/2021 (ea.com) Please check the paragraph that also mentions the traits. I think that is an improvement to what it used to be.

It seems to me that when these time frames would be more realistic we won't be able to follow our Sims any more. Especially not when the game option 'short life span' is used. On the other hand, when played the 'long life span' option approximately every 40 years is 94 days in Sims time. So this will never be a realistic option. It is still a game.
