Save issues (Sims 4)

So, I'm having an issue where on the resume panel my sim who died years ago and give generations ago shows up as a teen available to play. On the load panel the most current save shows the sims family I was playing just days ago. Once I click resume on that save, it just takes me back to that sim who already died and his family. Every other sims who existed during his generation is also still alive somehow. My sim family is nowhere to be found in the world but can be found in my library as their current selves. The house I built days ago just before I played the most current family still exists exactly as I built it and where I built it. I tried recovering the save and that didn't work, neither did repairing the game. Can anyone tell me what's happening and how to fix it? I've never seen, heard of, or had an issue like this before

  • Resume (top right corner) will take you to the most recently opened saved game and immediately plays the most recent family. Sounds like you accidentally opened an older save and now that's the most recent.

Try Load Game, load the saved game you want to play. Use the Load Game panel, not the Resume button.

You should see the map screen, and then be able to click on your family's house from there.

Thing is, the load game panel does show my most recent family but actually clicking on it takes me all the way back to the very old one. No sim that's come after my older family shows up in game but all their houses do. They only show up in my gallery, not in world like they should

  • @135Lee135  When you say you see your recent family, do you see them in the state you'd expect them to be in currently?  For example, are they the correct ages and wearing the correct clothing?  If you load a different household within that save, are those sims living in the right houses and the appropriate ages, etc.?  Have you built any lots since the time when you were playing the older household, and are those lots intact?

Essentially what I'm asking is, is the save overall mostly in a state that matches what you'd expect to see currently, or is it partially or entirely reverted to the state it was in when the sim that should be dead was still alive?  I wouldn't expect you to know every detail of the save in its current or past state, but you might for example remember that you built or renovated a community lot more recently, or you added an inactive household to be friends with your own sims.

Please also find the full path to the folder Sims 4 is reading.  Here's how:

    https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2018/07/how-to-find-your-user-folder/

Please list that path for me.  Open exactly that location, up to "The Sims 4," open saves, and use Windows key-shift-S to take a screenshot of the contents.  Include the file sizes and modified dates.  Please post that screenshot here.
