selling a retail lot with pending delivery breaks that delivery service

My sim owned a retail lot, and ordered a grocery delivery in order to obtain a few items to sell. However, I sold that lot and purchased a new one so I could build a better store, before the delivery arrived. Now, my sim is completely unable to order groceries, as it states that there is already a grocery delivery on the way. I waited a few days, in-game time, amd nothing ever arrived. tried visiting the previous retail lot, and nothing. even tried going back to the sim's house, figuring it might have ended up there instead, but still nothing showed up. i really need to order groceries, because my sim is running a convenience store with in-house cafe, and she needs ingredients for cooking and for selling raw.

EDIT: i should probably clarify, I know I could just travel to henford and buy directly from the grocery stall, however, for story reasons, my sim has no access to henford at the moment, and I dont want to just "pretend" she didnt go there. plus, she may run out of ingredients in the middle of a shift at the store, at which point she cant just leave to go to henford and buy more anyway.

also, it has only affected Goldbloom delivery service, however I assume it would affect the others the same way if it had been one of those services that I was waiting for. other households in the same save have not been affected. Reloading the game has no effect. i also assume the same error would occur if my sim had ordered at home, and then moved to a new home, and i presume it would also affect the maid, nanny, butler, and firefighter services. have not tested, and dont have a free save slot to do so at the moment (on ps4)

  • Can you receive grocery delivery on any lot you don't own though? I'm not sure this is a bug.

  • no, you cant, and thats exactly the problem. it's not that she didnt receive the delivery, its that she now cant order new deliveries *anywhere* because that delivery still shows as pending. it ought to cancel automatically when you sell the lot

@TriviaVanille16 have you tried power cycling your console? Instructions are here in the console troubleshooting steps:

    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Consoles/READ-FIRST-Console-Troubleshooting-Guide-and-Known-Issues-Patch/m-p/12363039#M19682

When something is stuck like this, often a power cycle can help.

If not, have you tried moving your Sim out of their home just for a minute and then back again? Because that can also help if something is stuck on the lot so it might help when a service is "stuck" too.

You can also turn off Fresh Ingredients on the fridge and if you have the Simple Living lot trait remove that. So you don't need to buy ingredients for many recipes. Although it's not ideal to have to do that. It doesn't work for canning or nectar for me though.

Just a couple of suggestions anyway. I'm also a console player I'm on Xbox Series X.

  • yeah ive done all that, nothing helped. I did manage to get deliveries to work again after my sim moved in with her girlfriend (moved to girlfriend's lot, not the other way around), i assume because its now a different household?

As for fresh ingredients/simple living, i know i can disable those, but to me cooking has always felt weird, and using those options makes it feel more realistic. plus, cooking with fresh ingredients makes food better quality, which increases the price she can sell them at. she has no regular job, just runs the store, so the more money she can make the better.

  • oh also, i need her to have access to the grocery delivery anyway, because she sells fresh fruit, veggies, dairy, fish, and meat in the store, and all of those are most easily obtained from Goldbloom's. Like i said, its fixed now, but i think its a bug that should be addressed for other players who dont want to/cant merge their household with another one
