Sims 4: Beards Are Being Removed From NPC’s

The title pretty much explains it. 

BUT if you want context though: For the past few months, I noticed that npc’s that my sims know and/or that I have given beards to, their beards were randomly removed. No, they are not shaving. I literally went into CAS using the, modify cas cheat while the npc sim was visiting my currently played sim’s apartment. I gave the npc a little makeover, beard included and as soon as I left CAS, the sim’s beard was there for about 5 seconds and then vanished right before my eyes. If I play as the npc, the beard stays. I don’t think this glitch affects sims I’ve been playing as, so far. For instance, the sim I created and have been playing has not been affected by this beard issue. The above explanation was noticed while some mods and cc were installed. The npc in question had no job, was a random townie listed on Cupid’s Corner and was NOT created by anyone and had no home until I gave them one. Regardless of how I accessed CAS, their beard kept being removed, homeless or not.

So, then I play tested without any mods or cc for 4 hours in a new save, playing as the Robles-Rueno family. The npc sim I gave a beard to for testing purposes was, Panya Li from For Rent who I had given a beard to. It does not matter what beard it is. The issue happens all the same. As an npc, I invited Panya out to an event in MT. Komorebi, he got my sim pregnant and he visited my sim’s house all while the beard stayed on until one day, he stopped by and the beard I gave him was gone. I said all this for the following purpose… Whether or not the sim has a career which, Panya technically does not have a career. Whether or not the sim has a masculine or feminine frame which I can attest to the fact that this issue does indeed affect sims with feminine frames. Jay Robles from SanSequoia who has a job is a sim who cannot keep a beard that is given to them via CAS. They are technically a male sim with a feminine frame and despite whether they can get others pregnant or not, become pregnant themselves or not, I tested all scenarios and the beard disappears all the same. In fact, a beard that is added to them in CAS, does not show up at all when leaving CAS. It wasn’t until I selected the option in CAS to “enable beard growth” that a beard finally grew but it was only 2 different full beards that was given to them. They never had anything as small as a, goatee and there was no ability to shave to the original beard I had selected for them in CAS. The only option was to just shave. Even when I selected a beard for Jay Robles in CAS, then left CAS and went back into CAS, the beard would default to them not having one. 

Moving on… in hindsight, beards are removed at random despite whether the npc is on my played sims home lot or at a community event and regardless of the sims physical body frame when played or unplayed. It does not matter. It also does not matter how I access CAS to give them a beard, via cheat, manage worlds or dresser. I’ve only seen this issue regarding disappearing beards mentioned on Facebook and I wanted to bring awareness to this issue on the forums. I hope this can be resolved asap as it ruins immersion. 

My game is updated to the latest version. Currently played with no mods or cc. I have all Stuff Packs. I have most EP’s, except Life and Death, Business and Hobbies and Fairies. I have most Game Packs, except Batuu, MWS, Vampires, Werewolves and whatever else after MWS.
