sims 4: can't progress in Good Vampire aspiration because of BFF

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.71.86.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? I can't right now
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have your played Sim have a Best Friend. Then try to do the Good Vampire aspiration.
What happens when the bug occurs? The objective to 'Make a BFF' is not completed
What do you expect to see? If I have a Best Friend, the aspiration should recognise that.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

Trying to do the Good Vampire Aspiration. Stuck on 'Making a BFF', because, as I understand it, a Sim is unable to have more than one Best Friend and the one my current Sim has does not count. Unless a BFF is different from a Best Friend in some way and I am unable just to find anything. It's frustrating and confusing. Help or fix or both.

    @NeuroticAnarchy You should be able to get a new BFF though. Just ask someone else to be your BFF. You will loose the BFF status with the other Sim but you should be able to make a new one.

    okay. but was that intended to be that way? it does not seem like it's the way it should be. or am I alone in feeling it's counterintuitive?

    @NeuroticAnarchy you mean you would rather be able to ask a Sim to no longer be your bff or the aspiration to fulfill if you already have one ?

    Since it says make a new bff, I do think this was how it was intended.

    I'm not sure if they changed the behavior to loose a bff they way it is now cause there used to be lots of complaints about this aspiration.

    @crinrict I realise I did not make that clear. sorry. it says to 'Make a BFF' and to me that sounded like it should complete if my sim already did that. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it feels inconsistent for some reason. it should work the proposed way, so it's fine.

    @NeuroticAnarchy Yeah, it might be best to change that to have a bff and let existing ones count but it's an old aspiration and I doubt they'll ever change that.
