Sims 4 CAS

It would make life so much easier for Sims 4 players using CAS if you would provide a button to do select all when choosing categories. Its so frustrating and tedious to have to select each category individually when you need to select all of the categories, especially if there are 8 in the family.  Please add this function, it would be extremely helpful.

Thanks

  • @micdali Got my 'XP' and 'Me Too' on that one! I would love if you could choose on various features if you want to apply to all - or just that one. Even tattoos... it would be nice if the formal outfit had an option to not have any given tattoo.... for instance, on my 'Sim-Self' I added the wrist, henna type one, but when she wears her formal outfit it is not a match to it... irl I would use makeup on that particular one for formal wear. And things like glasses, wedding rings, 'everyday' items, hair, etc. -  it would be so much simpler if we could tick a box if we want it to apply to all, then untick the box on any exceptions to this (like if I want different hair, no classes - contacts - for certain 'looks', etc.).

  • I've just created 4 siblings. It took about 90 mins, having to set every look individually. I create their basic look and it sets the hairstyle but then I move to the next outfit selection and they almost always have 2 different types of nose ring, some (Sir) Elton type glasses and a bobble hat. I have to change their makeup again...and don't get me started on the eyeball ring! I mean, why? They have random wedding rings too for some reason, different ones each time and socks with formal heels.

I wish it would start out with a blank Sim with nothing applied to it, just underwear, no accessories or makeup. We could then add the standard hair, nails, piercings across all categories and then edit them ourselves for each category.

It's made worse by the controls sticking on console. I can't remember if it used to happen when I played on PC but I have to hit backup when I move to each item because it's stuck. Also we can't instantly scroll to the top of the screen to select outfits 2, 3, 4, 5. So it's a laborious process. With over 50 packs it takes ages.

The hot, cold and formal categories are also too restrictive about accessories and I mentioned the Cold/Hot weather accessories recently. I wear the same accessories in hot and cold weather. I never say to myself, hmm now is it too cold to wear a Pandora bracelet? Or is that pendant formal enough? The way our British weather changes I'd be constantly removing jewellery because it's freezing again.

To speed the process up of creating my new family I tried generating a twin each time to then edit them individually, but even that doesn't work. It still generated bizarre accessories, and highly dubious fashion sense.

It extends to the pet creation too. Pets are created with clothing that can't be removed because the category isn't there. So a small dog wearing a dress for walkies is stuck with it. You have to delete the pet because you can't delete the dress.

If you would find copies helpful, rather than creating a genetic twin, you could save your first Sim to your library then add them to the household multiple times.

@PipMenace I'd never thought of that, it's a good idea.
I've actually just started using my library again after some bug problems with it and the Gallery (error codes and saves affected). I've ignored it for a few years and just got in the habit of not utilising it at all. I'm still figuring out what's bugged and what isn't. So I can place my own rooms but not my lots and I haven't tested Sims yet.
I'll try that next time, thanks for the tip!

@simsplayer818 For another way that I often use myself when starting over with a new hood, is using the Copy Sim option in MCCC. In my experience it's the fastest way to create a completely clean sim with all genetics intact, but none of their accomplishments etc. It copies everything except for the makeup for some odd reason.

@BylineBelife I'm actually on Xbox but that's still a handy tip for other players. I think that's a good example of the kind of practical mods that console players would like access to at some point in the future.
